Terminal Design

This design emerged as I was developing the NPS Roadway font for the National Park Service (NPS). During my exploration I looked at Plantin, Sabon, and various Garamond designs and gradually incorporated elements of each into this design. The large x-height helped with legibility and quite to my surprise I wound up with a set of useful text fonts when all I was really after was a signage design. I presented my results to the NPS and they were happy to add a family of NPS Rawlinson types to their revised identity program. Their budget did not allow them to purchase exclusivity so I released this version with small caps and several figure style added to my original design.
