Originally we were given the assignment to letter “The National Bank of Google.” The assignment stated that the lettering should look like the Google logo, but not copy the Google logo. We delivered the lettering in the form of a font, so the BusinessWeek art department could tart it up with the dimensions, shadows and highlights. The title changed to “Googling for Gold” so we added the ‘d’ and ‘r’ and remade the font.
